Plastic surgeons can perform a striking number of procedures to help people feel better about themselves. We can remove unwanted fat, reshape hips and thighs, reduce the signs of acne, reshape noses and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. All of these are procedures provide real help for people who are dissatisfied with their bodies. But many women come to see plastic surgeons for one main reason: They need help with their breasts.
Breast shape and size goes past the cosmetic. Breast problems can have serious effects on a woman’s self-esteem and confidence. When women have breasts that are unsightly, they may feel uncomfortable around their sexual partners, and they may even avoid looking at themselves in the mirror. Women who have breasts that are too large or too small may have difficulty finding clothes that fit properly and they may constantly be uncomfortable in the clothes they wear. Women who have faced breast cancer often had their breasts removed during their treatment, and they may feel less like women as a result of the treatment. These are all serious issues.
When I was in school, I developed an interest in breast surgeries. I knew that, if I learned the best techniques and I was able to apply them properly, I could truly help many women look and feel better about themselves. This seemed like a wonderful goal to shoot for, and I learned all I could about how to perform the surgeries and leave little scar tissue behind.
In my practice in the Chicago area, I perform a wide array of breast surgeries. I perform breast augmentation and reduction surgeries. I correct asymmetrical breasts and inverted nipples. And I perform breast lifting procedures to help women with sagging breasts. I want all of my patients to understand the procedures completely, so I’ve written long articles about how the surgeries are performed and how long it takes to recover from the surgeries. I have also posted before-and-after photographs, making it easy to see the results of the work I’ve done.
I allow new patients to see me for a consultation at no charge. During this visit, I listen closely to what the woman wants to do with her breasts. This appointment allows me to understand the woman’s goals, and it allows the woman to learn a little more about me and what I can do to help. I never rush these appointments, mainly because I want women to truly make an informed choice about surgeries.
I hope women in the Chicago area will come to see me if they’d like to change the appearance of their breasts. I’m here to help.
